Project background
Commencing in spring 2011 we worked alongside a large, multi-disciplined design team led by our employer, Lend Lease (on behalf of the Olympic Delivery Authority) in the creation of artificial sports pitches at Stratford, London for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Project scope
The full project scope is given above. In addition, given the immovable completion deadline, the design, tender and procurement processes were intense and demanded constant focus to ensure that final specifications were fully coordinated with other professionals. In April 2012, practical completion was achieved following a tremendous focused effort by the construction team. We undertook final inspections to record all snagging items / outstanding works to be rectified.
Project result
The full facilities for this high profile project were completed on time and on budget. During the Rectification Period (concluding July 2013), performance field testing resulted in the field being awarded a certificated of compliance to BSEN 15530-1.
